About Me
"He who laughs most, learns best." ~John Cleese
Hello!
For as long as I can remember, I have wanted to teach. From the little girl who lined up her dolls to teach lessons and grade their "work", to the teacher who spent years planning and delivering lessons to students, to the instructional designer who develops innovative courses for adult learners.
How people learn has always fascinated me. I have extensive years of experience designing and developing learning experiences for diverse groups of learners. I am also enthusiastic when it comes to acquiring new skills for my personal and professional knowledge. Every day presents opportunities to learn something new and valuable.
I understand the importance of communication and building relationships. Throughout the design process, I collaborate with all stakeholders, including clients and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs). I use a problem-solving approach through a needs analysis to determine your organization's needs. Through the ADDIE and SAM models, I use adult learning theory and backwards design. I utilize learning objectives and assessments to create trainings that will meet your needs.
Outside of developing creative learning experiences for adults, you will find me with a good book either at the beach or curled up on my couch. I enjoy music and love to go listen to my friends play. I also play music myself in our local community band. I love learning how to cook new meals. Most of all, I love to spend time with my children and our dogs.
